I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. It is with great pleasure and privilege that I have been appointed to the position of the North Queensland Field Days President, after the retiring president John Williams who gave 46 years of service to this community event. I have been involved with the Field Days in the capacity of Secretary and various other rolls for the past 23 years. Once again we invite the exhibitor’s to participate in this iconic event which is now in it’s 50th year.
This event is a bi-annual occasion and the 2016 Field Day will be held at the Townsville Correction Service Farm at Julago which is situated on the Bruce Highway approx. 12 kilometres south from the Townsville’s CBD. The Commissioner and the co-operation of the general manager of the Correctional Prison Farm contributes to this event being one of the biggest Field Days in Australia and the reasons for the Field day’s success is it’s site and location.
Some big changes have been voted in for the benefit of our exhibitors. We have changed our days back to the old format of Wednesday and Thursday. We have changed the configuration of our sites to make them wider and more commercially beneficial to the exhibitors.
One of the biggest contributing successes to the North Queensland Field Day’s events I am proud to announce, that we are sticking to our ‘NO ENTRY FEE TO THE PUBLIC’ policy. ‘WELCOME’ to our past supporters, and to all new-comers – ‘you won’t regret being part of the biggest and the best’.
